Apologetic Yacouba ready to extend Kotoko stay – report

Striker Songnè Yacouba has notified Asante Kotoko of his readiness to renew his contract through a letter apologizing for his recent truancy.

Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM has reported that the Burkinabé international made his stance in response to a letter from his employers.

Yacouba looked virtually on his way out of the club this summer transfer window but the few suitors which lurked around have so failed to land a deal to sign the 27-year-old.

According to Oyerepa FM, the Kotoko management, in a query letter, asked Yacouba to explain why disciplinary actions should not be taken against him after showing gross disregard to directives to join his teammates in training since July.

In the said letter, the club’s management is said to have stressed that was the final warning given him.

And a grovelling Yacouba, the report said, ‘has apologized to the management of the club for his behaviour and stated he is ready to extend his contract should the club show such interest.’

Songnè Yacouba’s two year-contract with Asante Kotoko is set to expire April 1, 2020.
