Afriyie Acquah joins Yeni Malatyapsor until 2021

Ghana international Afriyie Acquah has completed a free agent move to Turkish Super Lig side Yeni Malatyapsor.

The 27-year-old, who spent last season at Empoli, signed a two-year deal Friday and will be with the yellow and reds until summer 2021.

The deal comes with a further option for one more season.

The defensive midfielder played 28 games and scored twice during his season’s spell with Empoli the last term.

Acquah spent almost the whole of his club career in Italy playing for five clubs – Palermo who first signed him in 2011, two loan spells at Parma and then Sampdoria, Torino and Empoli. In between was an unsuccessful stint at German Bundesliga side TSG Hoffenheim.

Afriyie Acquah featured for Ghana at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Egypt this summer.
