Godfred Asiamah: One-time GPL teenage star joins Kotoko

Asante Kotoko have signed one-time Ghana Premier League teenage sensation Godfred Asiamah.

He arrives on a three-year contract from Division One side Tema United.

At 16, Asiamah made some headlines with now second-tier outfit New Edubiase United when they were then playing in the topflight.

That landed the offensive midfielder a trial opportunity with Swedish giants AIK in 2016 but could not impress enough to land a deal with the Stockholm-based club.

Asiamah just ended a loan stint with AshantiGold. He featured in Miners’ run to the Normalization Special Cup Tier-Two title and was in the starting line-up when the side eliminated Kotoko in the semifinals.

He is the Porcupine Warriors’ sixth signing this transfer after Justice Blay, Kwame Baah, Matthew Kelvin Andoh, Ampem Dacosta and Adingra Bidodane Ouattara Moussa.

Godfred Asiamah turns 20 on boxing day 2019.
