Asante Kotoko will play hosts to Ivorian champions Société Omnisports de l’Armée in an International friendly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Wednesday, July 31, the club has announced.
SO de l’Armee, the Yamoussoukro-based club, won the 2018/19 Ivorian Ligue 1 with 52 points, two better than second-place FC San-Pédro.
Both clubs are using the game as part of preparations towards their 2019/20 Caf Champions League campaign which is set to commence in August.
Kjetil Zachariasen’s charges are hoping to make great strides in the upcoming campaign, having reached the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup last season.
The Ghanaian giants secured a 2-1 win over Burkinabe outfit Rahimo FC last weekend in a similar preparatory game.
Kotoko face Nigerian club Kano Pillars in the preliminary round of the 2019/20 Caf Champions League. The first leg is scheduled to come off August 10 in Nigeria.
SO de l’Armee, on the other hand, also face Mauritanian side FC Nouadhibou in the Champions League prelims.
