Afcon 2019: Ghana to face Guinea-Bissau without Kassim Adams

Defender Kassim Nuhu Adams is suspended from Ghana’s final group game at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations due to yellow card accumulation.

The Group F encounter with Guinea-Bissau, now a do-or-die for either side – is scheduled for Suez Stadium on Tuesday, July 2.

The TSG Hoffenheim centre-back was cautioned in the 77th minute of the Black Stars’ opening game with Benin which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Kassim also received his second yellow card in the competition when Ghana and Cameroon played out an uninspiring 0-0 draw at Ismailia Stadium Saturday evening. This caution came on 64 minutes.

While the 24-year-old will be out of the starting lineup, head coach Kwasi Appiah is boosted by the return of the experienced John Boye who was sent off for two yellow card offences (37’, 54’) in the opening match.

The Ghana vs Guinea-Bissau encounter kicks off simultaneously with the Benin-Cameroon clash in Ismailia at 16:00 GMT on Tuesday.
