Richard Senanu: Kotoko midfielder to go under the knife in Dubai

Fast-rising Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Senanu is due to undergo a critical surgery on his right knee in the United Arab Emirates.

The youngster was initially ruled out for a week after picking up an injury late in the side’s 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup home clash with ZESCO United back in February.

But further diagnosis showed Senanu had suffered two ligament tears at the front and outer sides of his right knee hence the need for a corrective surgery.

And according to Oyerepa FM, doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital have recommended the need for a specialist in Dubai to handle the 24-year-old’s case.

The cost of the process, to be borne by Kotoko’s insurance partners Hollard, is said to be pegged at $16,000 with Senanu’s documents being processed for a trip alongside one management team member.

Until this knee setback, Richard Senanu had been a constant feature in Kotoko’s starting line-up since joining under the club at the start of the truncated 2017/18 Ghana Premier League last year.
