NCWSC Day 2: Hasaacas Ladies continue stuttering start [+FULL RESULTS]

Match-day two of the Ghana FA Normalization Committee’s Women’s Special Competition (NCWSC) came off Wednesday, producing avalanche of goals at the various venues across the country.

Hasaacas Ladies suffered their worst defeat in women football in the country as they were mauled by Sea Lions, whilst Black Maidens’ attacker rescued a point for her club side, Northern Ladies against Prisons at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.

The tournament is to keep clubs busy as we wait for the resumption of football. Here is a wrap of Wednesday’s actions:

In Group A, Ash-Town Ladies continue their impressive start to the tourney, thrashing Supreme Ladies 3- 0 at the Depot Park.  Joyce Fenteng struck twice in a spate of three minutes to end the first half at 2-0. With four minutes to end the match, Adana Hamidu snatched the third goal on the day.

Fabulous Ladies failed to pick all three points for the second time, as they were held in a 1- 1 draw by Kumasi Sports Academy at the Wesley College Park. Asirifi Agyemang scored for the Fabulous Ladies in the 64th minute but six minutes later, Sandra Atinga levelled for the visitors.

In Group B, Northern Ladies played a 2-2 stalemate with Prison Ladies. Prisons, who were determined to pick all points after losing their first game, came from a goal down to lead the Northerners 2-1 before Mukarama Abdulai scored on the 88th minute to rescue a point for his side. Black Queen’s midfielder Juliet Acheampong bagged a brace for Prisons after Victoria Osei had put the home side ahead on the 20th minute.

Elsewhere in Techiman, Ampem Darkoa were held to a barren stalemate at home by Pearl Pia Ladies. The draw means that both teams are on four points in the group.

In the Group C, Hasaacas Ladies suffered second defeat in a row. The women’s football powerhouse were humiliated 4-1 by Sea Lions at the Robert Mensah Park. The Elimina-based side took a commanding 3- 0 lead with a brace from Elizabeth Owusuaa as well as a goal by Theresah Cobbina before Hasaacas reduced the deficit by a goal through Pepertual Agyekum. There was no turning back for Hasaacas Ladies as Fatima Alhassan completed the demolition exercise with the four goal.

In the other game, LadyStrikers suffered a 2-1 home defeat to Soccer Intellectuals who picked a point in their first game. Gifty Boakye and Caroline Whejah netted for Intellectuals with Frederica Torkudzia pulling one back for Intellectuals.

In Group D, Police Ladies narrowly beat Immigration Ladies 1-0. Black Queens striker Jane Ayieyam scored the game’s only goal in the 87th minute.

In the same group, Halifax Ladies also secured a slender 1- 0 over Samaria Ladies. Ernestina Tetteh scored a 37th minute goal to win all three points for Halifax.
