Friendly: Hearts obliterate Hasaacas

Hearts of Oak mauled Sekondi Hasaacas 4-0 in a friendly at the Gyandu Park Sunday afternoon.

A brace from youngster Manaf Umar and a goal each from Joseph Esso and Kwadwo Obeng Junior handed the Phobians the impressive win over the Giants of the West.

The game, which started on a low pace, saw the visitors making incursions into the half of Hasaacas but Esso’s strikes could not find the back of the net.

Hearts continued to fight for the opener and in the 20th minute, Fatawu Mohammed was hacked in the 18-yard box which the referee whistled for a penalty.

Esso expectedly grabbed the first goal of the game with a cool finish from the spot.

Obeng Jnr. doubled Hearts’ lead with a header from a rebound after a good run by the Phobians.

Kim Grant’s charges finished the first half with a 2-0 lead.

After recess, Hasaacas tried to find their way into the game but the Hearts defence were resolute.

The introduction of youngster Umar in the second half worsened Hasaacas’ plights as he went on to hit a brace. 4-0 the game ended.

Hearts XI:

Ernest Sowah – Sumaila Ibrahim, William Denkyi, Mohammed Alhassan, Benjamin Agyare, Aminu Alhassan, Fatawu Mohammed, Charles Maccharty, Kofi Kordzi, Joseph Esso, Obeng Jnr
