Free agent Anthony Annan on brink of Beitar Jerusalem move

Former Ghana regular, Anthony Annan is set to join Israeli Premier League outfit Beitar Jerusalem, Footy-Ghana.com understands.

The midfielder, last month, ended his second stint of three years with Finnish champions HJK Helsinki, making him available on the transfer market with a free agent status.

Annan, 32, was reported to be reaching a deal with Icelandic side Valur Reykjavík but he is Israel-bound after agreeing in principle to sign for Beitar Jerusalem.

According to Footy-Ghana.com sources, the diminutive holding midfielder will complete a deal with ‘The Lions from the Capital’ until the end of the 2018/19 season when he arrives in Israel on Tuesday

He was reported to have received interests from FC Ilves and Rops in Finland, as well as newly-promoted Swedish Allsvenskan side Falkenbergs FF.

Anthony Annan has so far enjoyed a 10-club senior career since his days at Sekondi Hasaacas. He moved on to Hearts of Oak in 2005 before signing for Norwegian side IK Start in 2007. He has also enjoyed two stints at FC Stabaek and HJK Helsinki, Rosenborg, Schalke 04, Vitesse Arnhem, Osasuna and as well 1860 Munich.
