Goztepe announce loan signing of Lumor Agbenyenu

Days after being linked to Ghana left-back Baba Abdul Rahman, Turkish side Goztepe have rather announced the loan signing of his compatriot Lumor Agbenyenu.

Reports last week had claimed that Chairman of the Super Lig outfit had traveled to London and secured an agreement with Chelsea over Baba who is cutting short his loan spell at German side Schalke 04 over playing time.

But on Thursday morning, Goztepe officially announced landing the services of Agbenyenu who has struggled to command regular place in the starting line-up of Portuguese giants Sporting CP this season. He made only two appearances.

The 22-year-old, who has been capped 9 times at the senior level by Ghana, arrives at Goztepe until the end of the 2018/19 season with a purchase option.

Lumor Agbenyenu has been Ghana’s first-choice left-back in recent years especially following the absence of Baba Rahman who has been struggling to return to form following a long injury layoff.
