Caf CC: Kotoko name 30-member contingent for Coton Sport trip [LIST]

Asante Kotoko, this afternoon, set off from their Kumasi base for Accra ahead of Friday’s trip to Cameroon for a 2018/19 Caf Confederation Cup playoffs assignment.

The Porcupine Warriors will be heading for the Coton Sport FC de Garoua clash in Yaoundé with a 30-member contingent led by CEO George Amoako.

Kotoko’s contingent is made up of eighteen players, seven technical officials, four management members and the club’s photojournalist.

Asante Kotoko play Coton Sport on Sunday and the team decided to leave Kumasi for the capital in time to meet their departure schedule on Friday as they fly through Togo to Yaoundé.

The team will spend the night in a hotel at East Legon and leave for the airport early Friday morning to begin their journey into the first leg match of the last elimination round tie in the Caf Confederation Cup.

Squad news:

Head coach C.K Akonnor named 18 players for the Cameroon trip with as many as four new faces – Abass Mohammed, Stephen Nyarko, Prince Acquah and Obed Owusu gatecrashing the squad ahead of the likes of Daniel Nii Adjei, Jordan Opoku, Evans Owusu and Naby Keita who were in both legs of the Kariobangi Sharks hurdle.

Also, Abdul Fatawu Safiu and Kwame Bonsu, who got into the team for the Sharks elimination in Kumasi, maintained their spots in the team.

Per their flight arrangement, Asante Kotoko expect to return to Ghana on Tuesday, January 15.
