Ghana’s Andre Ayew celebrated his 29th birthday with a goal in the Turkish Super Lig Monday night.
But Fenerbahçe surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with BB Erzurumspor at the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
Ayew opened the scoring on 18 minutes when he met a weighted ball into the area with a sweet header from near post.
Fenerbahçe doubled the advantage seven minutes later through defender Martin Skrtel whose goal put the first half scores at 2-0.
Erzurumspor began their resurgence three minutes after the break with Emrah Bassan halving the deficit.
Fenerbahçe would think they had all three points in the bag but Lennart Thy popped up with a dramatic late equalizer, scoring two minutes into time added on to ensure the visitors left Istanbul with a point.
Both teams are struggling in the 2018/19 Turkish Super Lig and share the same points, 15 but Erzurumspor enjoy better goal difference and lie above Fenerbahçe who are second from bottom of the 18-team league table after 16 matches.
