Andre Ayew ruled out with broken finger

Ghana’s Andre Ayew has been ruled out for the next fortnight with a broken finger.

The forward picked up the injury during Fenerbahce’s 2-1 defeat at Trabzonspor last weekend.

Ayew suffered a fracture in the fourth finger on his right hand during the first half of the Turkish Super Lig fixture but opted to play through the pain after a brief medical attention on the sidelines.

The 28-year-old underwent further examination and had a successful operation at Liv Hospital in Istanbul.

“Our football team Dr. Erden Ertürer and his team performed fracture fixation operation and his treatment was started. Andre Ayew will start working with our team after 2 weeks,” parts of a club statement read Tuesday.

Andre Ayew fast established himself as a key player for the struggling Fenerbahce since arriving on loan from English side Swansea City. They occupy 15th position with 13 points from 13 games in the 2018/19 Turkish Super Lig.
