Manchester United’s Tommy Möller Nielsen is expected to be among a team of four scouts heading to Ghana as guests of topflight side AshantiGold SC, Footy-Ghana.com understands.
Möller Nielson, 57, is the first team scout of the Red Devils. He was brought on board by manager Jose Mourinho in July 2016.
The Dane is a known ally of AshantiGold bankroller Dr. Kwaku Frimpong who fronted the former’s appointment as head coach of local giants Asante Kotoko on two separate occasions but failed a couple of years ago.
Speaking on the imminent arrival of the scouts, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of AshantiGold, Frederick Acheampong told Footy-Ghana.com:
“Yes, we are expecting some scouts this weekend.
Though preferring to keep their identities until a confirmation, Mr. Acheampong added that “there is a scout with Manchester United who advises us and he will be coming down as well.”
It is understood that the other scouts joining Möller Nielsen to Obuasi are from Australia and Scotland.
