Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan was an unused substitute as compatriots Andre Ayew and Bernard Mensah scored in a five-goal thriller between Fenerbahce and Kayserispor on Saturday.
It was Gyan’s side who stole victory, 3-2 at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium in the Turkish Super Lig.
Andre Ayew netted the opener for Fenerbahce on 13 minutes – also his first since his summer loan move from Swansea City – with a headed goal.
Bernard Mensah however levelled the scores 7 minutes after the break.
Fenerbahce restored the advantage in the 57th minute via Algerian attacker Islam Slimani but that was short-lived by a Martin Skrtel own goal four minutes later.
Tjaronn Chery then scored the match winner for the visiting Kayserispor in the 69th minute, condemning Fenerbahce to a third defeat in the opening four games of the season.
Kayserispor remain unbeaten with two wins and two drawn games so far.
