Anas video: GHPL- Zylofon Cash sponsorship deal might be cancelled

Ghana Premier League headline sponsors Zylofon Cash might abrogate their 5-year deal with the Ghana Football Association if the league is forced to halt as a result of any findings from Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ expose on corruption in Ghana football.

The nation’s football governing body signed a lucrative agreement, believed to be worth $10 million, as the major financier of the  association’s top-tier competition.

Public Relations Officer for Zylofon Cash, Halifax Ansah-Addo has revealed that some clauses in the contract might be triggered if the fallout from the video is damaging to their firm’s credibility.

“If it so happens that the investigation affects the whole organisation [GFA], so much so that the league cannot continue, then we may review the contract.”

“Who enters a contract without an exit clause? I’ve not seen it anywhere before. However the matter hasn’t reached there yet, it just an option we are considering, but we hope we will not get there,” the communication expert told Citi FM.

According to local media reports, Anas’ video expose will reveal several corrupt practices from over 60 major stakeholders, including referees and GFA officials.

Number 12 will be premiered at the Accra International Conference Center on today Wednesday June 6 and June 7 at 3pm, 5pm, 8pm and 10pm.
