WATCH: Medeama thump struggling All Stars

Kwasi Donsu and Kwame Boateng each scored twice as leaders Medeama thrashed 2015/16 champions Wa All Stars 4-1 on matchday 14 of the 2017/18 ZylofonCash Premier League.

The Yellow and Mauves are on fine form this season – eight wins in thirteen games, even with a game in hand.

Medeama broke the deadlock at the T&A Park when Kwasi Donsu netted on the 11th minute courtesy a superb free-kick – a usual emphatic strike from the dead-ball specialist.

Wa All Stars then pressed for the equalizer but the home side displayed solidity at the back, stopping most of the visitor’s attacks.

With the encounter swinging at certain moments for both sides to take advantage, Medeama were awarded a penalty and Kwame Boateng scored to hand his side a strong lead on the 33rd minute. 2-0 and few minutes to end the first half.

But that was not all. Agyenim Boateng earned another spot kick for the Yellow and Mauves and once again Kwame Boateng scored on the 44th minute – his second of the day – as the home side grabbed a 3-0 lead at half time.

After the break, Wa All Starts pressed for an early goal in a bid to get back in the game and on the 49th minute, Richard Arthur netted with a header.

Medeama, noticing their opponent’s resurgence seized control of the duel and maintained huge possession of the match. They had their final bite on the 93rd minute when Kwasi Donsu bagged his second goal of the contest from the spot, ending the match with a 4-1 victory.

Kwasi Donsu scooped the NASCO Man of the Match gong.

Medeama are now top of the table after matchday 14. For All Stars their relegation battle continues; they lie 16th on the league log with 7 points, nine points behind 13th-placed Bechem United.
