‘Three-horse race for free agent Ernest Sowah’

Champions Aduana Stars have entered a three-horse race with AshantiGold and Hearts of Oak for free agent goalkeeper Ernest Sowah, his representative has claimed.

Sowah, 30, recently left Asante Kotoko and is set to take a definite decision on his future in the coming week.

For a player of his caliber, there was surely going to be no shortage of takers ready to pounce for his services.

Last week, Hearts of Oak firmed up their widely speculated interest in Sowah by meeting his representative after it emerged that league leaders AshantiGold had made initial enquiries.

Giving the latest update on Sowah’s next move, Nana Oduro Sarfo revealed 2016/17 Ghana Premier League winners Aduana have joined the race as the shot-stopper prepares to choose from available options by Tuesday May 15.

“We are in touch with three clubs but no deal has been agreed yet.

“I’ve held talks with Hearts and Aduana, we know what they are ready to offer. A meeting with AshantiGold follows next after which we decided on what’s best for Sowah. We don’t have any problem with the three clubs.

“By Tuesday, there should be a decision by Sowah and I believe the club he chooses will also be ready with their contact papers for a deal to be sealed,” he told Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.

Sowah will be joining a club which offers the assurance of more playing time.

“Yes, the money should be good but what’s paramount is playing time. All the clubs we are talking to have good platforms but Sowah wants a place he gets to play as much as possible,” Oduro Sarfo added.
