#FootyTransfers: AshGold to win race for Sowah

League leaders AshantiGold have emerged favourites to win the race to sign free agent goalkeeper Ernest Sowah.

Despite the rumours linking the experienced shot-stopper to Accra Hearts of Oak, the capital club have not made any approach for his services.

According to Sowah’s representative, only the Miners have contacted his player.

“We have not spoken to them [Hearts]. It is AshantiGold who have made the first approach. We are awaiting what they will bring to the table,” said Nana Oduro Sarfo.

AshantiGold see Sowah as a perfect replacement for good old George Owu.

Ernest Sowah mutually parted ways with Asante Kotoko after months of a discordance with the top hierarchy of the club. The former TP Mazembe grew discontent after he was accused by Dr. Kwame Kyei the Executive Chairman of the Porcupine Warriors of taking bribe to concede goals in the final game of the 2016/17 season. Sowah burst out a couple of weeks later in a radio interview to demand a termination of his contract but that was not granted until after over five months (last week).

Sowah is yet to taste any competitive action this season.
