Wa All Stars earn dramatic 1-1 draw with Liberty

Liberty Professionals and Wa All Stars split the points with a dramatic 1-1 draw in their 2017/18 Ghana Premier League matchday 10 clash on Saturday.

It was a back and forth affair between the two sides whose directors dominated the headlines within the country’s football politics during the week.

Liberty, dominating play, could have taken the lead in the 43rd minute when Brite Andoh was brought down for a penalty.

But Frederick Ansah who stepped up to effect, failed to convert from the spot with a poorly taken kick. The game went into recess barren.

In the 86th minute, Liberty were rewarded another penalty after Wa All Stars goalkeeper clipped Alex Acheampong in his goal area.

This time, the Scientific Soccer Lads put it right by converting through Francis Owusu in the 87th.

However, that lead could not beyond a minute as first half substitute Jeffrey Degorl snatched the equalizer after a solo run.

Liberty occupy 14th position while Wa All Stars remain bottom with six points after match day 10. Two points separate them.

Liberty centre-back Simon Zibo emerged NASCO Man-of-the-Match.
