Opare turns down Leicester move; wants new Augsburg contract

Ghana star Daniel Opare has dismissed rumours linking him to Leicester City insisting he is not keen to leave Bundesliga club Augsburg in the January transfer window.

Opare, 27, has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League side Leicester City as well as Stoke City , but he has reiterated his desire to stay with the Bundesliga outfit.

“These are just rumours, I give nothing. I have no reason to go now. I’m happy here and feel at home,” he told kicker.com.

Opare also revealed that he is focusing on landing a new deal with Augsburg.

“My advisor and my big brother takes care of these things. They are in good talks with FC Augsburg,” he added.

“I’m ready to extend my contract and I’d be glad to be able to play here for several more years.”

Opare’s time at Augsburg has been a breath of fresh air as the defender seems to have rediscovered his form which saw him land a deal at Real Madrid earlier in his career.
