Leicester sign Ghana’s Kamal Sowah and loan him out to Belgian club

Leicester City have signed Ghanaian youngster Kamal Deen Sowah and promptly loaned him out.

The 18-year-old joins the Foxes from Sporting Club Accra on a four-and-half-year contract.

Leicester have sent Kamal on loan to Oud-Heverlee Leuven in the Belgian second tier where he begins his journey to the big stage in Europe. The deal is on a short term – till summer.

Kamal Sowah is a defensive midfielder. He was spotted by Leicester’s chef scout who recommended him for an outright purchase to former manager Nigel Pearson.

But a deal could not be signed until the hot prospect’s 18th birthday which fell on January 14.

At OH Leuven, Kamal gets to work under Pearson who recommended him to Leicester.

Kamal Sowah was controversially dropped from the Ghana U-17 World Cup squad last year following a well-broadcasted contractual disagreement between his guardian and former club Right to Dream Academy.
