Ghalca G8: Aduana off to winning start

Defending champions Aduana Stars kicked things off in Group A of the 2018 Ghalca G8 Tournament with a 1-0 triumph over Dreams FC in Kumasi on Saturday.

New signing Fatawu Abdul Rahman scored the only goal of the encounter against the run of play seven minutes from halftime break. A well-taken Noah Martey corner kick threaded towards Fatawu who jumped up and headed the ball into the goal.

Dreams FC put up an impressive fight but could not find the equalizer.

Aduana, who will represent Ghana in the Caf Champions League beginning February, handed debut starts to other new boys like Hafiz Adams, Farouk Adams and Justice Anane whilst Congolese U-20 international Oba Ikama Ulitch and Gockel Ahortor came off the bench to make their first appearances for the Ogya Boys.

Asante Kotoko take on Ghana Premier League new boys Techiman Eleven Wonders in the other opening group game on Sunday.

Aduana top Group A with three points.
