Frank Nuttall berates Hearts players after G8 final loss

Hearts of Oak coach Frank Nuttall has slammed his players for their performance against Dreams FC in the final of the 2018 Ghalca G8 Tournament on Sunday.

Daniel Kordie shot Hearts into the lead on 11 minutes but after seven minutes, Razak Cromwell pulled level for Dreams FC when he went through the defenders before lifting the ball past goalkeeper Benjamin Mensah.

The Premier League returnees took the lead through skipper Leonard Owusu’s penalty after Eric Gawu was brought down in the 18-yard box.

And the gaffer has criticized his charges saying they were lethargic and too casual in their outlook after scoring the match opener.

“We started the game fairly well, we were organized. But to be honest, after we scored the goal, I was disappointed with the attitude of my players,” Nuttall told the press.

“They know that I’ve told them that and I have felt their reaction. We lost concentration and focus after we took the lead.

“At 1-0 in any game, the other team always has a chance of getting back in the game and that is what happened,” he added.

Hearts of Oak have the next three weeks to finalize their preparations for the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League. They kick off their campaign with a trip to the Nana Ameyaw Park to face debutants Techiman Eleven Wonders.
