Karela Utd take preseason preps to Ivory Coast

Ghana Premier League new entrants, Karela United have moved camp to neighbouring Ivory Coast for their preseason preparations.

The side based in Nzema Aiyinase in the Elembelle District of the Western Region took a short trip to the Francophone country on Sunday.

Karela plan to spend 21 days in Ivory Coast and will engage in a couple of friendlies before returning home in time to participate in the Ghalca G-8 tournament which has been scheduled for January 6-21, 2018.

In the G-8, they have been drawn to face Hearts of Oak, WAFA and Ebusua Dwarfs in the group phase.

Karela recently signed playmaker Emmanuel Osei Baffour on a free transfer from AshantiGold and are on the verge of completing some top signings ahead of their debut campaign in the Ghanaian topflight.

Head coach Johnson Smith, last week, was also rewarded a two-year contract extension.
