‘Godfred Saka not irreplaceable,’ says Aduana board member

Out of contract Godfred Saka has left the Aduana Stars after eight good seasons at Dormaa.

The defender played over 150 games for the Ogya side, winning two league titles.

Saka joined the club in 2009/10 and became a huge part of the historic Herbet Addo’s side that clinched the Ghana league title in just their first campaign in the elite league and added another league honour last season despite playing a bit part role due to niggling injuries.

But the star right back is on the verge of joining Nigerian side Enyimba FC and board member of Aduana Stars Yaw B.A believes Saka was a great servant of the club well but he, like any other player, is not irreplaceable.

“There is no doubt Saka has served us very well. But no player is bigger than the club. Saka can be replaced. Even if you look at our former captain Samuel Asiedu when he was retiring there were doubts if we were going to be able to find a good replacement but we found good replacements. We wish Saka well. At the moment, he is out of contract with us and we don’t know his whereabouts,” Yaw B.A told Footy-Ghana.com.

The board member, very close to Nana Agyeman Badu, also discussed the club’s transfer activity with us and hinted that the transfers of Wa All Star’s Hafiz Adams and Justice Anane of Berekum Chelsea would be done and dusted latest by next week.

“Hafiz and Justice are training with us and latest by next week we will announce their signings. We’ve followed Hafiz and are impressed with the reports we have had about him and I think he’ll be a good replacement.” Yaw B.A added.

Aduana Stars will represent Ghana in the 2018 Caf Champions League as winners of last season’s league.
