Ahead of their clash on Sunday, Asante Kotoko have beaten off competition from arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak for goalkeeper Michael Abu.
Abu, was one of the standout shot-stoppers in the league last season, had held talks with the Phobians in recent weeks. He looked set to move to Accra until Kotoko waded in with their offer.
Footy-Ghana.com can authoritatively state Abu is currently in the camp of the Porcupine Warriors finalizing his switch.
Mchael Abu was key for Cape Coast-based Ebusua Dwarfs who finished the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League at a remarkable 4th position.
