Big blow for Aston Villa as Albert Adomah hobbles off with injury

Aston Villa have been dealt another injury blow as star man Albert Adomah had to be taken off just 17 minutes into Tuesday night’s league match against Brentford.

Adomah, 30, has been is sublime form for Villa this season and already has 11 Championship goals to his name, 12 across all competitions.

The Ghanaian winger only needs one more goal to beat his best-ever goals haul across a single season having equalled his tally for the 2013/14 season with a penalty against Sheffield United last time out.

But he’ll have to wait and could face a spell on the sidelines depending on the diagnosis of the injury which saw Josh Onomah replace him at Griffin Park.

Adomah was kicked in the stomach early on and appeared to be shaken up as Villa’s medical team tended to him on the edge of the Bees’ box. The former Middlesbrough winger tried to carry on but had to be replaced less than 10 minutes later.

Villa already have captain John Terry (foot), Chris Samba (hamstring), Henri Lansbury (hamstring), Gabby Agbonlahor (ankle) and Jonathan Kodjia (ankle) on the sidelines.
