Ghana’s Black Princesses whitewashed Kenya 5-0 in the first leg of the 2018 Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup penultimate qualifying round on Sunday.
Ampem Darkoa Ladies forward Princella Adubea was in rampant mood, bagging four of the goals while Helena Obeng claimed the other at the Cape Coast Stadium.
It was Helena who led the charge with the opening goal in the 16th minute.
Adubea then took over with a brace before half-time break.
It was business as usual for Coach Yusif Basigi’s girls in the second half which saw Princella Adubea score another two goals to complete the first leg scores at 5-0 in favour of Ghana.
Kenya will be hoping to overturn the huge deficit when they host the return fixture slated for the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on November 19.
The winner of this tie will next face Cameroon who have already advanced to the final round due to Sierra Leone’s decision to withdraw from the qualifiers.
Ghana’s Black Princesses are gunning for a sixth successive appearance at the Fifa U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Two countries would represent Africa at the tournament scheduled for August 7-26 2018 in France.
