Confirmed: Black Stars go ‘Red and Yellow’ for 2018 Puma Home kit [SEE PHOTOS]

Change has come! The Black Stars of Ghana have a brand new Puma home kit for 2018.

Though subject to confirmation, Footy-Ghana.com picks up that the Black Stars will don the new strip designed by Puma when they host Egypt in their last World Cup qualifying match at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday November 12.

One thing for sure is that there is a complete departure from what fans were becoming used to.

No more white! It is red and yellow!!

This new home kit somewhat satisfies the long clamour for the team to be identified with the national colours.

Ghana used to have a traditional yellow shirt with the other colours – red, black and green on the national flag featuring on it.

Amidst some ‘Fifa technicalities’, the African powerhouse then moved on to white after signing on to German kit providers Puma.

Now beginning the next World Cup year, which Ghana obviously would not be making an appearance after falling short to Egypt, the Black Stars will no longer be clad in white.

New Home kit modelled by MHD

French Afro-Trap rapper Mohamed Sylla, known by his stage name MHD was in Ghana recently (September) where he modelled in the new shirt of the Blacks Stars.

He was joined by national team goalkeeper Richard Ofori in a PUMA activation held at the Accra Girls Senior High School to celebrate its 20th anniversary of ongoing partnership with African Football.

In a dedication to the style of African football, Puma is said to have understood the calls for a change by deciding to break the codes for this new Black Stars apparel.

Accustomed to play with a white home jersey, Ghana now evolves with a red home outfit accompanied by yellow and green, the three colors of the Ghanaian flag.

The “Black Star”, the symbol of this team, is further highlighted by being in the center of the jersey and accompanied by an original print that highlights it even more.

There is yellow throughout the length of the sleeves while the round collar has the three colors of the flag. Three Puma logos are visible at the front: a yellow placed on the chest and two blacks present on each shoulder.
