2017 African Footballer of the Year nominee, Christian Atsu has linked up with the Ghana squad, quelling fears he sustained a serious injury at the weekend.
On club duty, the winger could not complete the game as Newcastle United succumbed to a 1-0 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth last Saturday.
Atsu had to be substituted in the final 15 minutes after picking up a knock.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez explained after the match that the winger “felt something” in his leg, suggesting a potential muscle strain and was set to be assessed on Monday.
But Atsu has landed in Accra with the Ghana squad as normal ahead of their World Cup qualifier at home to Egypt on Sunday.
