Ghana midfielder Enoch Kofi Adu has made a return to the Swedish league by signing a three-year deal with big boys AIK Stockholm.
The 27-year-old who only left rival club Malmö FF for Akhisar Belediyespor in the Turkish league in January this year was unveiled Wednesday afternoon.
“I’m really happy to be here and looking forward to help the team to achieve [its aim of] winning titles.
“Everything will depend on hard work. [We will] win everything together,” said the midfield enforcer.
“I know AIK is a good, big club and I played against them so I know the team really well. I’m really happy to be here,” he said in response to a question on his decision to move the Stockholm club.
Asked if he was in contact with Malmo before reaching a deal with AIK, Kofi Adu said: “No. I started talking with AIK a month ago. I was talking to the coach (Rikard Norling) and he had only good things to say about me. It was a good feeling.”
AIK has been home to a couple of Ghanaian players in recent years.
