Asante Kotoko Chairman Dr. Kwame Kyei says the club is ready to negotiate a permanent deal with English coach Steven Polack.
Basking in Sunday’s MTN FA Cup glory, the leader of the Porcupine Warriors said management will soon be sitting down with the coach.
“I gave the team a target to win the league but we failed. This achievement is equally a good one and we thank God. Kudos to the entire team for the performance…
“The coach? He should be staying. We are ready to keep him so it depends on him,” Dr. Kyei said on Sunday.
The former Berekum Chelsea gaffer who took over the mantle on short term basis midway into the season also hopes to make his stay permanent in the coming days.
“I want to sort the situation about my future. A couple of weeks ago, we agreed that we will sort it out after the Cup finals. Hopefully from Tuesday, we will start negotiations,” he said.
Coach Polack led the Kotoko side to a commanding victory, 3-1 over their arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the final of the 2016/17 MTN FA Cup at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
Striker Sadick Adams bagged a hat-trick before the Phobians got a goal back through captain Thomas Abbey in the second half.
Asante Kotoko will represent Ghana in the 2018 Caf Confederation Cup competition.
