Friendly: Black Starlets hit four past UAE

Ghana’s Black Starlets thumped the UAE 4-0 in an international friendly at the Theyab Awana Stadium in Dubai on Saturday.

The Ghana Under-17s have been holding their final preparations for next month’s World Cup in the Arabian Peninsula over the past 10 days.

Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin’s boys lost their first test game against African rivals Mali earlier this week and ensured making amends in their second game against the Young Whites of UAE this afternoon.

Gideon Mensah struck first as early as the 7th minute, a lead Ghana held on to till half-time.

Ten minutes after the break, Aminu Mohammed doubled the lead for the Black Starlets.

On 65 minutes, Sadiq Ibrahim made it 3-0 before Iddris Mohammed added the final goal eight minutes from time.

The Black Starlets will now leave Dubai and return to their Abu Dhabi camping base. Footy-Ghana.com is yet to confirm if the team will feature in another friendly game in the coming week before heading for the World Cup tournament.

Ghana is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi for the 2017 Fifa Under-17 World Cup on October 2. Four days later, they play in the opening match of the tournament against Colombia. The South Americans have already arrived in India.

The Black Starlets are in Group A of the U-17 World Cup with the Colombians, the USA and hosts India.
