READ WHY: KP Boateng makes shock Las Palmas exit

Suspended Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng has completed a shock exit from Spanish side UD Las Palmas.

The development, confirmed by the club, comes barely three months after he signed a contract extension which was to keep him around until 2020.

Boateng, who has previously featured for Hertha Berlin, BVB, Spurs, Portsmouth, AC Milan and Schalke 04, is leaving the La Liga side for ‘personal issues’.

According to Las Palmas, the midfielder will be looking for a new club where he will be closer to his family.

The 30-year-old midfielder is scheduled to officially say goodbye to Las Palmas fans later in the day.

“The player will hold a press conference at Estadio Gran Canaria, at 17.00 hours (16.00 GMT) this evening alongside president Miguel Ángel Ramírez when he will bid farewell to the fans”, Las Palmas’ statement read.

KP Boateng was Las Palmas’ best player last season. He scored 10 and made five goals for his teammates.
