Gyasi nets in Stabaek heavy win

Raymond Gyasi opened the scoring for Stabaek Football as they recorded a 3-0 win over Aalesunds FK in the Norwegian NM Cup Round of 16 on Thursday.

The game was supposed to have come off on Wednesday but rescheduled to Thursday due to heavy downpour.

Raymond, 23, shot the home side in-front after just 20 minutes into the game.

Stabaek increased their goal tally four minutes to half time following consistent pressure through Belgian Tortol Lumanza.

Back from recess, Tonny Brochmann made it 3-0 two minutes into the second half and made sure the visitors had no chance of coming back into the game.

Meanwhile, Raymond’s older brother, Edwin Gyasi, 26, was operating on the right side of the midfield for Aalesunds with his younger brother creating openings and carving in from the left side midfield.

Both players saw full 90 minutes of action as Stabaek advances to the next round of the competition.

Stabaek will travel to face Lillestrom SK who boast of 11 goals in four matches played conceding only three, in the quarter-finals (1/8th stage) on August 26.
