Black Stars ‘B’ depart for Ouagadougou on Wednesday

Black Stars “B” will travel to play Burkina Faso in the final round of the qualifiers to the 2018 CHAN tournament on Wednesday.

The team made comprising of local based players in the hunt to make an appearance in Kenya after being knocked out by Ivory Coast to miss the Rwanda edition.

The first leg, which will be Kwasi Appiah’s first in charge of the “B” team, will come off in Ouagadougou August 5 with the return scheduled for the Baba Yara stadium eight days later.

The team rounded up preparations for tie with a 3-1 defeat by assistant coach is still upbeat about the team’s chances. The former Kotoko trainer believes the defeat will clear any form of complacency after the team went unbeaten prior to the friendly.

“It was good exercise, this was the first time we have been beaten and for me it serves as a wakeup call even though we didn’t start with the best of our available players.”

18 players are expected to make the trip north from the 28 players in camp.
