GHPL: Olympics’ problems not technical – Attram

Accra Great Olympics coach Godwin Attram has reiterated that the poor results this season can’t be attributed to the technical team.

Olympics lost the ‘Mantse Derby’ by 2-1 to Hearts of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the match day six of the ongoing Ghana Premier League. Benjamin Arthur cancelled Paul Acquah’s opener for the Phobians before recess but Inusah Musah tapped home the winner for Hearts minutes to the end of the game.

The player-coach in the post-match interview revealed that the display of his team that is being seen as a problem of coaching isn’t so and it is difficult to point out what is exactly wrong with the wonder club.

“Everyone saw what happened in the game. This is not a coaching fault. We don’t know what is happening to the team.

“Spiritual wise, I don’t know if something is worrying this team. The performance the boys put out [against Hearts] is unbelievable but we lost, Attram said.

Concerns have been raised by supporters of the team with regards to the competence of Godwin Attram as the head coach of Olympics and believe a new coach must handle the side in top division.

Olympics lie bottom on the ladder with just two points from two draws in six matches this season. They host Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
