[WATCH] Uganda lose 2-0 to Tunisia in pre-Afcon friendly

Ghana’s Afcon 2017 group opponents Uganda suffered a two nil defeat against Tunisia in a preparatory game Wednesday afternoon.

It did not take long for Etoile du Sahel midfielder Hamza Lahmar to neatly convert a free-kick on the 6th minute, which kept Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal rooted on his toes at the far right post.

Back from the break, the Tunisians increased their lead through another set piece crafted in by Ali Maaloul with Mohamed Ali Yakooubi connecting the resultant kick to make it 2-0.

Lahmar came close to making it 3-0 from another free-kick but missed the post. The Eagles dominated play and were by far the better side.

Dali Yaakoubi was forced to pull an incredible save from the effort of Onduparaka FC youngster Mohammed Shaaban to prevent the Cranes from pulling one back.

The Tunisians were saved by the post in a last minute attempt from the Ugandans with the North African giant carrying the day.

As the deadline for the submission of squad beckons, the friendly match presents a fine opportunity for Uganda coach Milutin Sredojevic to name his final 23-man squad for the 2017 Afcon tournament which is due for Wednesday midnight.
