Official: Tamale to host All Stars vs Bechem Super Cup Jan. 22
The Ghana Super Cup will be played on January 22, 2017, the Ghana Football Association has communicated.
Wa All Stars, winners of the 2016 Ghana Premier League will play MTN FA Cup Champions Bechem United at the Tamale Sports Stadium to herald the new Ghana football season.
This decision was concluded at the Ghana FA extra-ordinary congress held on Wednesday at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
Wa All Stars made a historic statement in Ghana football last season as the first club from the northern part of Ghana to be crowned champions of Ghana’s top football league.
Bechem United won the 2015/16 edition of the MTN FA Cup Competition after beating Okwawu United 2-1 in the grand finale and will represent Ghana in the CAF Confederation Cup competition this year.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Premier League however will be launched on January 25 with the Special Gala Competition taking place on 28th and 29th days of January.
The 2016/17 Premiership has also been scheduled to commence on February 4, 2017 while the GN Bank Division One League kicking off a day before.
