Dreams FC announce Manuel Zacharias as technical director

Portuguese Coach Manuel Zacharias has agreed to join Dreams FC as the club’s technical director.

The MTN FA Cup winning coach has been appointed by Dreams FC to enrich the progress of the youth system and progammes of the club.

According to Dreams FC, the Portuguese trainer is to help augment the technical team which already has Charles Akonnor as head coach. Zacharias is expected to take charge of the course of the club’s two youth sides and provide a comprehensive programme to make them the best in the country.

The appointment was confirmed by Prince Abdul Hamid, Vice President of Dreams FC.

“We are glad to announce the appointment of Manuel Zacharias as the club’s Technical Director.

“It is heartwarming that this football club is able to attract such quality personnel even as it prepares to play in Division One” he said.

“Zacharias is known to our terrain and we believe bringing him here will go a long way towards achieving the objectives set by the board of this football club for the coming season and beyond,” Prince Hamid added.

Manuel Zacharias had his contract with Bechem United terminated on Wednesday December 28, 2016 after an agreement was reached between club and coach. The relationship between the coach and the Hunters turned sour in the closing weeks of the 2015/2016 Ghana Football season after a number of disagreements.

Zacharias won the 2016 MTN FA Cup with Bechem United after beating Okwahu United in the final which has qualified them fo the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup.

He officially begins duty on Monday after a meeting with the first team on Friday.
