Member of the New Patriotic Party’s transitional team, Mustapha Hamid has confirmed the Black Stars players have requested for an amount of $10,000 as winning bonus for Afcon 2017.
Hon Isaac Asiamah, purported Minister of Sports in waiting and Mustapha Hamid, aide to President-elect Nana Akuffo Addo recently met the FA and a section of the players to bid them farewell as they prepared ahead of the tournament.
“I was part of the team that joined the incoming Sports Minister to meet the Black Stars [last Sunday].
“Yes they [Black Stars] requested for a restoration of their $10,000 winning bonus package but Isaac Asiamah said after the President-elect Akufo-Addo is inaugurated, he will meet up with them [over it]. He assured them he will inform the transitional team about their request,” Mustapha Hamid told GHOne TV.
The Black Stars are in UAE for a 12-day training before moving to Gabon on Jan 13. They are group D alongside with Mali, Egypt and Uganda.
