Kotoko sign Kwame Boahene for GH¢95K

Midfielder Kwame Boahene has completed a switch from Tarkwa-based Medeama SC to Asante Kotoko in a three-year deal.

The big signing was announced after the former Liberty Professionals predator who hails from Kumasi passed a mandatory medical with the porcupine warriors.

It is understood the fee involved in the transfer agreement between Kotoko and Medeama is GH¢95,000.

A statement on the Asante Kotoko’s official website read;

“Enterprising midfielder, Kwame Boahene has joined Kotoko for the next three years.

“In attendance was the Executive Chairman, Dr Kwame Kyei and four management members namely Operation Director, Ernest Owusu Ansah; Head of the Legal Team, Lawyer Yaw Boafo; Administrative Manager , Rose Padmore Yeboah and Accra Representative and Premier League Board member, Thomas Boakye Agyeman.”

The 23-year-old had his manager Robert Hagan by his side to help complete the deal and sign the dotted lines.

Boahene joined Medeama from Liberty Professionals in 2012 and spent three seasons with the Tarkwa-based side.

He played a pivotal role for the Yellow and Mauves in the 2016/2017 CAF Confederation Cup where they placed third in their group and failed to qualify for the semi-finals. He was part of Sellas Tetteh’s U-20 squad that won silver in 2013 at the African Youth Championship in Algeria and bronze at the FIFA U-20 tournament in Turkey.
