Isaac Quansah declares intention of playing abroad

Kotoko’s new recruit Isaac Quansah says he’s hoping to continue his football career abroad but said he is ready to embrace the challenge at the Kumasi-based club.

The midfielder from division one league side Hearts of Lions has been training with the porcupine warriors for a while now and featured in all the GHALCA G6 games for Kotoko.

He says though he is under pressure to excel at the club, it’s also a challenge to get him ready for the bigger challenge abroad.

“There’s a bit of pressure, it’s the greatest club in Ghana and so the tension around it is so great but the most important thing is I am an up and coming player, I want to play and go abroad and the pressure out there is much greater than the one here and so I have my head up and I’m looking forward to playing outside so I don’t see the pressure to be that much, it’s part of the job,’ Quansah said when asked about the pressure in playing for Kotoko.

Quansah won the man of the match award in the third place game of the G6 tournament at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a game that saw Kotoko win by 5-4 against Bechem United on Sunday.

A brace each from Kwame Boateng and Emmanuel Gyamfi with another goal from Isaac Quansah ensured that Kotoko finished in third place and Quansah said he’s happy with the feat.

“Being part of this great team is a privilege, being the first game I started and winning the man of the match is a great feeling,” he said.

Kotoko is yet to officially sign any player but there are strong indications that Isaac Quansah will be signed along with his former teammate Prince Acquah for the next season.
