Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Cudjoe Fianoo has has revealed that plans to slash GHALCA’s 5% allocation on gate proceeds and foreign transfers will not work under his watch.
The Ashgold boss has revealed there is a seeming plot against GHALCA by some members of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
According to him at the GFA ordinary congress held on Monday 12th December 2016 at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre for Excellence in Prampram, there was a proposition to take half of GHALCA’s 5% allocation on gate proceeds and foreign transfers to other sectors.
This he believes is a plot against the association he leads and that it’s a move to render GHALCA impotent.
“I am not surprised that this thing is coming because people who have benefited from GHALCA, now they have positions, they even want to know the locus of some of us in Ghana football.
“It’s a grand scheme that some people have planned and it’s surprising that the very people who are supposed to be GHALCA members take those decisions [sic],” he claimed
“If they want to destroy GHALCA, then they should get ready,” Fianoo charged.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, Mr. Fianoo also mentioned that, “If the clubs will not come together and assist GHALCA, if I see something going on at the GFA, I have the right to fight so if the clubs don’t want to come together and want to run a system where nobody talks back when they do, then I will go back to my Ashgold and fight from there anything that is going wrong.”
Cudjoe Fianoo was earlier this year elected as the chairman of clubs welfare body.
