What we know: Why Yaw Preko is leaving Hearts of Oak

Stop-gap Hearts of Oak head coach Yaw Preko Friday afternoon served his employers a surprise letter existing the club.

Preko joined the Phobians an assistant coach prior to the start of the 2015/16 season but was made interim head few games to the end of the season.

The ex-Hearts winger had seen his head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi depart midway into the campaign but was bypassed for Portuguese trainer Sergio Traguil who had arrived just about the time to handle the Hearts youth side.

Checks by Footy-Ghana indicate that Preko outlined three issues in his resignation letter presented at a management meeting held at the club’s secretariat.

Coach Yaw Preko, sources say, feels disrespected in several ways by the actions of the management since the departure of former coach Yatsuhashi.

Also the coach feels sidelined by the Vincent Odotei Sowah-led management in player recruitment decisions already being undertaken for the upcoming 2016/17 season.

Preko, we are told, is also unhappy with the delay in the payment of his salary. Footy-Ghana.com can confirm the club has failed to pay its entire staff for four months now (including October).
