14th – 17th Oct: Ghanaian Players Abroad
In an early kick-off, Leicester City played as guest to Chelsea FC at the Stamford Bridge. Both Daniel Amartey are Jeffrey Schlupp started for the visitors – bowing to a 3-0 defeat. Schlupp made way for Algerian Riyad Mahrez on the 68th minute whiles Amartey full 90 minutes.
West Ham won their first match away and their second win in the EPL by narrowly defeating Crystal Palace by 0-1. Andre Ayew is still in the treatment room as he seeks to recover from his thigh injury.
In the Championship, 23-year-old Elvis Manu was unused for Brighton and Hove Albion in their 2-2 draw at home to Preston North End.
Elsewhere, Christian Atsu made his second start for Newcastle United as they hosted Brentford. They defeated them 3-1 to record their fourth win in their last five matches.
Albert Adomah got off to a flying start under new manager Steve Bruce. The 28-year-old made his fifth start and saw 90 minutes of football action whiles Jordan Ayew sat on the bench.
Charlton Athletic recorded a heavy 3-0 win at home over Coventry City – bouncing back from their 0-2 defeat to Crawley Town. Daniel Agyei was unused for the visitors. Both Kwame Thomas and Corey Addai could not travel with the team.
Hiram Boateng, 20, sat on the bench for Bristol Rovers in their 2-1 home win over Gillingham.
Oldham failed to record their second straight win as they lost 2-0 against former Premier League side Bolton Wanderers. Darius Osei could not make the trip for the visitors.
Atletico Madrid accounted for their heaviest win in the season so far by thumping Granada CF by 7-1 at home. Thomas Partey sat on the bench throughout the entire 90 minutes whiles Clifford Aboagye failed to make-up the squad for the visitors.
UD Las Palmas were held goalless at home by Barcelona-based Espanyol. Kevin Prince Boateng lasted 76 minutes for the home side as he made way for Sergio Araujo.
Ghana’s number one goalkeeper Razak Braimah warmed the bench for Cordoba in their 0-1 home defeat to Sevilla Atletico.
FC Schalke 04 held Augsburg to 1-1 draw away, making it three matches unbeaten. Baba Rahman returned from international duties to command his left back position as he played 90 minutes whiles Bernard Tekpetey was not part of the team. Daniel Opare could not make the Augsburg squad.
Jan Gyamerah has shrug off his injury and return to the starting line-up for Vfl Bochum – played at home to SV Sandhausen. He was brought off two minutes to full as they drew 2-2.
Eintracht Braunschweig hosted Kaiserlautern at home on a Monday night football. The home side dominated the squad and ended up winning by a goal to nil. Phil Ofosu-Ayeh could not make the squad whiles Joseph Baffo was unused.
Still unbeaten in their last six matches, FC Heidenheim convincingly won 0-2 against Greuther Furth away. David Atanga failed to travel with the team.
Juventus strolled past Udinese in a 2-1 win at home to register their fifth straight win in the Italian Serie A. Kwadwo Asamoah was missing in action due to injury whiles Emmanuel Agyeman-Badu failed to make the trip.
After two straight defeat, Sassuolo bounced back to record a 2-1 win over Crotone at home. Claud Adjapong was unused for the home side.
Torino recorded their third straight win by beating Palermo 1-4 away. They are fourth on the league table behind AC Milan with 14 points. Afriyie Acquah was an unused substitute.
Godfred Donsah, 20, made his first start for Bologna against Lazio as they drew 1-1. His place was taken by Erik Pulgar on the 68th minute.
Isaac Coffie was an unused substitute for Genoa as they were held to a goalless draw at home by Empoli.
In the Serie B, Ascoli are still without a win in their last five matches – suffering a 1-4 defeat at home to Hellas Verona. Bright Addae, 23, was given his marching orders on the 45th minute.
Avellino returned to winning ways after beating Spezia at home. Former B.A Stars and national U20 defender Patrick Asmah lasted 90 minutes for the home side whiles Isaac Donkor, 21, was unused.
Kingsley Boateng could not make the squad for Bari as they travelled to play as guest to Frosinone. They lost 3-1 and are yet to pick a win in five matches now.
Perugia beat Citadella by 2-0 at home to record their fourth straight win. Masahudu Alhassan once again sat on the bench for the home side.
Moses Odjer, 20, made a second half appearance for Salernitana away against Brescia as they drew 1-1.
Carpi defeated Latina 2-0 at home with both Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and Boadu Acosty starting for the visitors. Acosty played full 90 minutes whiles Boakye-Yiadom was substituted on the 75th minute.
Amidu Salifu, 24, on-loan from Fiorentina, played full 90 minutes for Mantova but could not help his team as they were wallop 1-4 at home by Bassano.
Surprisingly, both Raman Chibsah and Bright Gyamfi failed to make the starting 11 for Benevento in their 3-2 away defeat to Virtus Entella.
Ransford Selasi saw no action for Novara – watching his team from the bench when they played as guest to Pro Vercelli and lost 2-1.
Majeed Waris started for Lorient after his international duty with the Black Stars. They hosted Nantes at home but unfortunately lost 1-2. Waris played full throttle of the game while’s 19-year-old Enock Kwateng came in for Diego Carlos for the visitors in the second half.
Goeffrey Acheampong, 19, was unused for Bastia in their 1-2 defeat at home to Angers SCO.
Rodney Antwi failed to make the 18-man squad for FC Utrecht. They won 3-0 at home against Go Ahead Eagles.
AZ Alkmaar are without a win in their last four matches. They were held to a 2-2 draw at home. Derrick Lukassen, 21, played full 90 minutes for the home side.
FC Twente failed to capitalize on Vitesse 2-2 draw to go sixth on the league table by sharing the spoils with PEC Zwolle at home. Yaw Yeboah started for Twente but made way for Dylan Seys on the 64th minute.
Reagy Baah Ofosu made the starring 11 for NEC Nijmegen – losing 1-2 at home to Feyenoord. His place was taken by Nigerian Taiwo Awoniyi on the 73rd minute whiles Quincy Owusu-Abeyie played the last six minutes of the game for the home side.
On a Friday night, Fortuna Sittard welcome VVV Venlo at home and won 2-0. Jonathan Opoku started the game for the visitors and was substituted four minutes to full time.
SC Telstar bounced back to winning ways by defeating NAC Breda 2-0 at home. Thomas Agyepong came in for Giovanni Korte on the 63rd minute.
Joe Dodoo made a second half appearance for Rangers on the 70th minute as they narrowly won 0-1 against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Heart of Midlothian recorded their second straight win by defeating Dundee FC at home. Prince Buaben came in on the 89th minute.
Liefering kept their cool and maintained their six-point gap at the top – defeating FAC 1-5 away on Friday. Former WAFA winger Samuel Tetteh started and scored a brace for the visitors. He was substituted on the 60th minute. Both Gideon Mensah and Lawrence Ati-Zigi warmed the bench.
Raphael Dwamena, 21, started for Austria Lustenau in attack as they won 0-1 against KSV 1919 away.
HJK Helsinki failed to record a win after their two previous defeats as they were held to a 1-1 at home by IFK Marienham. Once again former Hearts of Oak midfielder Anthony Annan made the first 11 and lasted the entire game for the home side whiles former Inter Allies winger Evans Mensah warmed the bench.
RoPS Palloseura bounced back to winning ways after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Vaasa PS last week. They won 2-1 at home against Kuopio PS. Former Asante Kotoko striker Ransford Osei was unused for the home side.
Panathinaikos failed to bounce back from their slum by suffering a shocking 1-2 defeat at home to Xanthi FC. Mubarak Wakaso started the game but was brought off on the 46th minute.
League leaders Steaua Bucuresti were shocked at home by sixth-placed Gaz Metan Medias to a 0-1 defeat. Sulley Sariki Muniru replaced Bogdan Mitrea on the 41st minute.
Eric Ocansey, 19, produced a five star performance for AS Eupen by scoring a brace in their away fixture against Waasland Beveren, but unfortunately lost 4-2. He equalized on the 49th minute and added the second eight minute after but was substituted three minutes to full time. Nana Opoku Ampomah was not part of Waasland squad.
KVC Westerloo proved tough for Truidense VV in their away fixture – drawing 2-2. Mitch Appau, 26, made his 10th appearance for the visitors and lasted the entire 90 minute.
Bennard Yao Kumordzi was unused for KRC Genk in their 2-2 away draw against Royal Excel Mouscron.
Fourth-placed KAA Gent comfortably defeated SV Zulte Waregem by 3-0 at home to account for their 1-0 loss to Club Brugge last week. Nana Akwasi Asare saw full action and was cautioned 47 minutes into the game.
RSC Anderlecht maintained their top spot on the league table with a 1-0 win over KSC Lokeren at home. Frank Acheampong played full 90 minutes whiles Emmanuel Adjey Sowah warmed the bench. Eugene Ansah could not make the trip.
Former Club Africain winger Francis Narh made his 10th appearance and scored his third goal for Levski Sofia against CSKA Sofia. He opened the scoring on the 34th minute before it was cancelled out 13 minutes to full time. He was brought off on the 90th minute.
Jonathan Mensah warmed the bench for Anzhi Makhachkala in their 0-0 home draw with Terek Gronzy.

AIK cruise to a 2-0 win at home against Ostersunds FK to maintain their second spot on the league table. Ebenezer Ofori started the game for AIK and played their 90 minutes with Patrick Kpodzo missing in action and could make the squad. However, Samuel Mensah, 27, saw full action for the visitors.
Malmo FF defeated third place Norrkoping away by 1-2 to maintain their seven-point gap between second-placed AIK. Enoch Adu Kofi returned from international duty to command the midfield position for Malmo.
BK Hacken missed the chance to overtake Kalmar on the league table after drawing 1-1 with Jonkopings away. Both Mohammed Abubakari and Nasiru Mohammed played full 90 minutes but Baba Mensah could not make the squad.
Kwame Bonsu, 22, made the first 11 for Gefle IF in their away fixture against IFK Goteborg. His place was taken by Johan Oremo on the 64th minute. The game ended 3-3.
Hammarby IF stood on their grounds to record their third successive win. They defeated Djurgardens IF by 4-2 at home on a Monday night football. Joseph Aidoo played full 90 minutes for the home side.

Columbus Crew lost 3-2 away to New York Red Bulls. Right-back Harrison Afful got the second goal for Columbus and lasted the entire game.
Montreal Impact failed to make a third straight win – drawing 2-2 with Toronto FC at home. Dominic Oduro, 23, started for the home side but lasted 81 minutes on the field.
David Accam helped Chicago Fire to beat New England Revolution by scoring the winner and his ninth of the season. He was substituted on the 96th minute. However, Gershon Koffie, 25, replaced Kelyn Rowe on the 71st minute.
Both Patrick Nyarko and Llyod Sam made the starting line-up for DC United as they played as host to New York City at home. Sam was substituted on the 76th minute whiles Nyarko lasted the entire duration of the game.
After suffering two successive defeats, LA Galaxy bounced back with a narrow win over Houston Dynamo away. Emmanuel Boateng, 22, played full 90 minutes for the visitors.
