Too much sex draining our footballers – Malik Jabir

Ex-footballer and experienced coach Malik Jabir believes “too much sex” is sapping the energy levels of the modern day Ghanaian footballer.

According to him, majority of footballers these days get easily tired and are unable to last the entire duration of a game because they neither sleep nor train enough.

“A lot of today’s players cannot play 90 minutes because they get tired easily. And you know why? Because they don’t sleep enough, don’t train enough and engage in too much sex.

“There are many beautiful young girls around and these players won’t leave them alone,” Jabir told Kumasi-based Ultimate FM.

Coach Jabir, the immediate past gaffer of the national U-23, the Black Meteors and current technical director of Kumasi Asante Kotoko however advised that “there’s time for that (sex) and there’s time for football. If you mix the two, you can’t reach the top.”

Jabir played for Kotoko between 1964 and 1977 and won the African Champions Club Cup (Now CAF Champions league) with the Porcupine Warriors in 1970.
