Reading refuse to sign ‘unfit’ Asamoah Gyan – report

Asamoah Gyan couldn’t see through his move to English second tier side Reading FC due to fitness concerns.

The captain of the Black Stars was angling for a season-long loan at the Championship side from Shanghai SIPG in China on a pay cut.

According to reports from the English press, Gyan is not fully fit to make appearances for the English side immediately.

A report by Berkshire-based media outfit, GetReading claims the forward can only be fit for action after eight weeks per the results revealed by the medical held on Monday.

The 30-year-old enjoyed his first and only spell in England for Sunderland from 2010 to 2012 in the Premier League but appears unlucky to get a second chance in English football for the Royals in the Championship.

Gyan is expected to join the Black Stars in Accra for this weekend’s ultimate 2017 Africa Nations Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
