Do more – Sammy Kuffour charges GPL organizers

Former Black Stars defender Sammy Osei Kuffour has challenged organizers of the local league to make it more appealing to all stakeholders.

The former star at Bayern Munich, in an interview with Citi Sports, explains the organization of the game has been below par recently.

“Well for now I haven’t been in the stadium because sometimes it’s not about who you are going to watch but how the whole game is organized”.

Most people have also argued that players in the local scene do not have the quality that was exhibited by some former players and Osei Kuffour seems to agree with the assertion.

“I was watching a game on TV; Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, I was very impressed with the crowd but I wasn’t impressed with the game itself because the quality of the game in my view was a little bit less and then those days you use to see Shamo Quaye and Joe Debrah, that’s rivalry but it’s no more there because you can’t find anyone with such quality,” he mentioned.

The SuperSport TV pundit has asked that stakeholders to take a departure from dwelling on past glories in the local league and work together for the good of the game.

“It’s time and season so we should forget about that but just a little bit about the organization in terms of the players and everything. I think that’s what we like and so the local league is not doing bad in my view but I think we can do more”.
